Atheist is a very important technical death metal band from Florida. They were the first to incorporate, albiet subtle, jazz and latin elements into extreme metal. "Their second album, Unqeustinable Presence, released in 1991, has been regarded by some critics as one of the most influential technical death metal albums of all-time."
